In Mega City 1 (formarly, New York), There was a Judge, named Joseph Dredd, who was the toughest and most stringent Judge in history. One day, he was charged with murder. He was tried and sentenced to life in prison because of it. Then, Dredd found out that it was in fact a person who shares his DNA. Former Judge Rico. Now, Dredd has to find out what Rico is planning to do, and to discover about his past.. Dredd is an upcoming British science fiction film directed by Pete Travis. It was announced in December 2008 that Danny Boyle, through his production company DNA Films, was to make a comic book adaptation[4][5] of 2000 AD character Judge Dredd[6] and would be unrelated to the 1995 film version. The film is to be directed by Pete Travis with a script by Alex Garland. The cast currently consists of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd and Olivia Thirlby as Judge Anderson. Dredd is due to be released on 21 September 2012[7] in 3-D.[8][3]. Movie's year of release is 1995 and was directed by Danny Cannon. Very enjoyable crime movie , love it!
